Our Mission, Vision & Values

Our Mission

We are an American Baptist Church family endeavoring to be the body of Christ in the midst of life, coming together to worship in love for Christ and each other, providing a cornerstone of faith through all life stages, going out to serve our community and our world.

Our Vision

Through our ministries we encourage, equip and empower our church family to joyfully follow the ways of Jesus in every aspect of daily life.

Our Core Values

Centered under the Lordship of Jesus we are committed to:.

  • Meeting spiritual growth needs of individuals and families.
  • Meaningful worship and Bible-based teaching.
  • Caring, intimate fellowship.
  • Faith in action through service and outreach.

Our History

The Wyoming Baptist Church was founded in 1882.  John Tangaman, a Lockland, Ohio paper mill owner paid $2,925 for the Burns Avenue site.  Cincinnati architect, Albert C. Nash, designed the Victorian Gothic building with a slate roof and a  beautiful stained glass window featuring a Star of David.

Albert C. Nash designed many other prominent buildings in and around the Cincinnati area.

Twenty-five members from Lockland Baptist Church became our founding members.  Over the years the church has grown in vision and mission to bring the Good News of the Gospel to the whole world.

The Education Building was built in 1990 and has seven classrooms and a fellowship hall.
